Reviews of I am a Tree
Each song is consummately crafted and oozes charm. Take my advice and put checking out Kyle John Suckling at the top of your New Year's Resolution list."

"There’s a few things that happen when you hear a song for the first time: you tune it out after a few seconds because it does absolutely nothing for you, you hear something in it that makes you want to continue to listen, or you simply like it right away and press “play” again. The last option came to me when I heard Kyle Suckling’s debut album I am a Tree.
In a world filled with somewhat poppy, manufactured, cookie-cutter styles of music (that seem to appeal to the masses), I am a Tree is refreshing, authentic and well, just a great album.
From the bluesy country-rock feel of the track, Let’s Make Love to the appealing sounds of Live to Learn, the album delivers cool melodies and inspired lyrics from singer-songwriter Kyle John Suckling and his band of talented musicians. Increasingly, it seems as if today’s generation of music consumers pick and choose their songs, down-loading say one or two tracks but generally not the entire album. Sometimes the entire album offers something completely different from what you’d get by listening to say just one song – for instance, Bruce Springsteen’s 1980 classic, The River.
I am a Tree is kind of like that ... similar to a good book, each song is a chapter and you’re really missing something if you don’t hear it all – as it was meant to be heard."
